Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion sliced
Beef
  • 1 lb ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 8 oz provolone cheese shredded
Seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

Cook
  1. Cook pasta until al dente, reserve 1 cup pasta water
  2. Sear steak in batches, set aside
Vegetables
  1. Sauté onions, peppers and mushrooms until caramelized
  2. Season with garlic powder and pepper
Sauce
  1. Make roux with butter and flour
  2. Whisk in milk, simmer until thickened
  3. Melt in provolone cheese
Combine
  1. Toss pasta with vegetables, steak and cheese sauce
  2. Add pasta water as needed to adjust consistency
