Method
Cooking the Meat
- In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, and pepper to make the sauce.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground meat and cook until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Pour the sauce over the meat and stir to coat. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the meat is caramelized.
Assembly
- Divide the cooked rice among four bowls.
- Top each bowl with a generous portion of the spicy meat.
- Arrange carrots, cucumbers, and spinach/kimchi around the meat.
- Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and a fried egg if desired. Serve immediately.
