Method
Prepare Dough
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tsp sugar
- Mix pumpkin, egg, butter, and remaining sugar
- Combine with yeast mixture
- Gradually add flour and salt to form soft dough
First Rise
- Knead dough 5-7 minutes until smooth
- Place in oiled bowl, cover
- Let rise in warm place 1-1.5 hours until doubled
Assemble Rolls
- Roll dough to 12x18 inch rectangle
- Spread softened butter over dough
- Mix filling ingredients except pecans and spread evenly
- Sprinkle with chai spices and pecans
- Roll tightly from long end, seal seam
Second Rise & Bake
- Cut into 12 slices, place in buttered pan
- Cover, rise 30 minutes until puffy
- Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden
Frosting
- Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth
- Gradually add powdered sugar
- Mix in vanilla and chai tea
- Spread on warm rolls before serving
