Homemade Chicken Shawarma

Ingredients
  

Marinade
  • 2 lbs chicken thighs boneless skinless
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper
Serving
  • Pita bread
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Red onion

Method
 

Marinate
  1. Combine oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices. Toss chicken to coat. Marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight).
Cook
  1. Grill or pan-fry chicken over medium-high heat until charred and cooked through (about 6-8 mins per side).
  2. Let rest, then slice thinly.
Serve
  1. Stuff into pita pockets with veggies and plenty of tzatziki.
