Homemade Chicken Parmesan Calzone

Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 500 g pizza dough store-bought or homemade
For the Filling
  • 2 cups cooked breaded chicken chopped
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
For the Topping
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Divide the pizza dough into 2 or 4 equal portions.
Assembling
  1. Roll out each dough portion into a circle.
  2. On one half of the circle, layer marinara sauce, chicken, mozzarella, parmesan, and basil.
  3. Fold the other half over the filling and crimp the edges tightly to seal.
Finishing
  1. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with garlic salt.
  2. Cut 2-3 small slits in the top for steam to escape.
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
