Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup pureed strawberries

Method
 

Prepare Dough
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let stand until foamy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add yeast mixture, softened butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
Make Filling
  1. Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in chopped strawberries.
Assemble Rolls
  1. Punch down dough and roll into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
  2. Spread cream cheese filling evenly over dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  3. Starting from the long side, roll tightly into a log.
  4. Cut into 12 equal pieces using dental floss or a sharp knife.
  5. Place in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake and Glaze
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes.
  3. Whisk together glaze ingredients until smooth.
  4. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls.
  5. Serve warm or at room temperature.
