Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
Optional
  • Coarse sugar for sprinkling
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Sliced almonds for topping

Method
 

Prepare
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line baking sheet
  2. Roll out puff pastry slightly on floured surface
  3. Cut into triangles or rectangles depending on desired shape
Add Chocolate
  1. Place chocolate pieces at wide end of pastry
  2. Roll up pastry, enclosing chocolate completely
  3. Place seam-side down on baking sheet
Bake
  1. Brush with egg wash (egg beaten with water)
  2. Sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired
  3. Bake for 15-18 minutes until puffed and golden
Serve
  1. Cool slightly before serving
  2. Dust with powdered sugar if desired
  3. Best served warm when chocolate is melted
