Method
Prepare the Dough
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough or puff pastry and press seams together to form a large rectangle. Cut into 12 squares.
Make the Filling
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
Assemble and Bake
- Place the dough squares on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spoon a dollop of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square.
- Top the cream cheese with a spoonful of cherry pie filling and a sprinkle of crushed pineapple.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the danishes are golden brown and the filling is set.
Glaze (Optional)
- For a glaze, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk. Drizzle over warm danishes.
