Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 lemon juiced
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
Cajun Seasoning (if making homemade)
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method

Preparation
  1. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely under cold running water. Pat the shrimp thoroughly dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the dried shrimp with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated. Set aside.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add the unsalted butter and let it melt completely.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cooked shrimp and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
  5. Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp when possible. Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to your preferred spice level. This dish pairs wonderfully with rice, pasta, or crusty bread.
