Ingredients
  

Steak Marinade
  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For Serving
  • Cooked rice or mashed potatoes
  • Steamed vegetables
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Steak
  1. Cut steak into 1-inch cubes, ensuring uniform size for even cooking
  2. Pat steak pieces dry with paper towels to ensure proper browning
  3. In a bowl, combine olive oil, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, cayenne, salt, and pepper
  4. Add steak cubes to the marinade and toss to coat evenly
  5. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature or up to 2 hours in refrigerator
Cook the Steak Bites
  1. Heat a large cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over high heat
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the hot skillet
  3. Working in batches to avoid overcrowding, add steak bites in a single layer
  4. Sear for 2-3 minutes without moving to develop a golden-brown crust
  5. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes for medium-rare, or to desired doneness
  6. Remove steak bites from skillet and set aside on a plate
Make Garlic Butter Sauce
  1. Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet
  2. Once butter is melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant
  3. Pour in beef broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits
  4. Add thyme, lemon juice, and half of the parsley
  5. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until sauce slightly thickens
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste
Combine and Serve
  1. Return steak bites to the skillet with the garlic butter sauce
  2. Toss to coat evenly and heat through for 1 minute
  3. Garnish with remaining fresh parsley
  4. Serve immediately over rice or mashed potatoes with steamed vegetables on the side
