Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Garnish
  • Sesame seeds
  • Sliced green onions
  • Steamed rice for serving

Method
 

Prepare Chicken
  1. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness
  2. Season with salt, pepper, and dust with cornstarch
  3. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat
Cook Chicken
  1. Add chicken to skillet and cook until golden (5-6 minutes per side)
  2. Remove chicken and set aside
  3. Reduce heat to medium
Make Sauce
  1. In same skillet, add garlic and cook until fragrant (30 seconds)
  2. Add brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and pepper flakes
  3. Simmer until slightly thickened (2-3 minutes)
Finish Dish
  1. Return chicken to skillet, coat with sauce
  2. Simmer until chicken is cooked through and sauce clings to chicken
  3. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions
  4. Serve over steamed rice
