Breakfast Rolls

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 large egg
Filling
  • 6 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 4 eggs scrambled
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 tbsp chives chopped
Topping
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning

Method
 

Prepare Dough
  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms
  4. Knead on floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic
  5. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled
Assemble Rolls
  1. Punch down dough and roll into 12x8 inch rectangle
  2. Sprinkle with bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, and chives
  3. Roll tightly from long end and pinch seam to seal
  4. Cut into 8 equal pieces and place in greased baking pan
  5. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes until puffy
Bake and Serve
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Brush rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with seasoning
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
  4. Cool slightly before serving warm
