Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a jar or container with a lid, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
Add Wet Ingredients
- Pour in the milk, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract. If using, add the lemon zest. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
Incorporate Blueberries
- Gently fold in the blueberries. If using frozen blueberries, they will release their juices overnight, creating a beautiful purple hue and infusing the oats with even more blueberry flavor.
Chill Overnight
- Secure the lid on the jar or container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
Serve and Enjoy
- In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If they are too thick, add a splash more milk to reach your desired consistency. Top with additional fresh blueberries, granola, or any other desired toppings. Enjoy cold!
Notes
For best results, chill for at least 8 hours. Adjust sweetness to your preference. Experiment with different milk alternatives. Layer for visual appeal. Can be meal prepped for 3-4 days. Add protein powder or Greek yogurt for extra protein.
